The Self care & liberation project
We have found ourselves in trying times, faced with political and racial unrest. We believe that by investing in self-care, we are directly working towards our collective liberation.
Yogis in Service (YIS) founded in Buffalo NY and Yoga 4 a Good Hood (Y4AGH) founded in Rochester are sister organizations seeking to better support BIPOC during the upcoming election cycle.
(September 2020 through January 2021).
Both organizations have a mission to create equity in access to yoga and believe that it is highly likely that the upcoming months will be extremely stressful for BIPOC.
YIS and Y4AGH will offer a series of online classes for BIPOC who are engaged in activism, community reform, and/or coping with the stress of the current election cycle. These classes will be based on themes of Black Lives Matter, negotiating racism and white supremacy themes in election propaganda and engaging in mindful self-care to support resilience and wellness.
